Step-by-Step Process to Register Your Firm
1. Submit Form A
Start by filling out Form A. This is your main registration application. It must include:
- The name and address of the firm
- Details of all partners
- Duration of the partnership
- Signatures of all partners and two witnesses
2. Write the Partnership Deed
The Partnership Deed is the agreement between partners. It should be:
- Written in English on a Rs. 500 stamp paper
- Signed by all partners in front of two witnesses
- Attested by a Notary Public
- Submitted with a re-attested (notarized again) copy
Make sure the date on the deed matches the stamp paper date.
3. Provide CNICs of All Partners
Each partner and witness must provide
- Original CNICs for verification
- Photocopies of both sides of CNICs
- Copies should be signed by the person (self-attested)
- CNICs must be valid (not expired)
4. Pay the Treasury Challan
You must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 5,000. Steps:
- Deposit the amount in State Bank or National Bank of Pakistan
- Use the challan code: CO3545-Registration of Firms & Societies (Provincial)
- Keep copies of the paid challan as proof of payment
Attach the receipt with your registration documents.
5. Prepare an Affidavit
This is a written declaration on stamp paper. It should state:
- The firm name and address are original
- The partners legally own the business
- There are no legal cases against the partners
- All documents submitted are true
- The partners, not the registrar, are responsible in legal matters
It must be signed by the partners and attested by a notary public.
6. Attach Notary Public License Copy
All notarized documents must come with a copy of the notary public’s valid license. If the license is expired, your documents may be rejected. Always double-check the license’s validity.
7. Complete Biometric Verification (E-Sahulat)
Each partner must go to a nearby E-Sahulat Center (NADRA or franchise) with their CNIC for fingerprint scanning. This step:
- Confirms the partner’s identity
- Prevents fake registrations
- Links the firm to verified individuals
This verification will be recorded in the registration system.
8. Apply Online
After completing all the above steps:
- Visit the Registrar of Firms’ website: http://apps.kpitb.gov.pk/eodb/
- Create an account and upload your documents
- Once approved, all partners must visit the office for final signatures and thumb impressions
- After that, you’ll receive Form H—your official firm registration certificate
Note on Costs
While the official registration fee is Rs. 5,000, there are other costs to keep in mind:
- Stamp paper for deed and affidavit
- Notary public charges
- Lawyer fees for document preparation and legal help
So, budget accordingly.
